Angry drivers ‘queuing for hours’ to cross Humber Bridge

Bestinau got that-

Angry drivers say they were trapped for hours on Saturday crossing routes at the Humber Bridge.

Due to maintenance work on the bridge that has caused serious nuisance, a temporary counter-current traffic system has been installed. Access to the bridge remains congested today on both the North and South banks.

In a statement posted on social media, a Humber Bridge spokesperson said: “To keep you informed, we will be carrying out essential maintenance on the bridge’s surface from 8pm Friday to 3am Monday.

“During this period, a contrast room will be in operation to protect the public and staff, and the TAG runway will also be closed.”

Motorists share their anger on social media. One woman said: “It took me two hours to visit my mother, which is usually a 40-minute drive, and I really don’t feel like queuing for almost an hour and a half to get back home later. Put Greed not in the first place and open the bloody barriers – how the hell are the emergency services going to get through!”
