President Joe Biden delivered a speech on Wednesday about the fight against Covid-19 in the US

The president’s comments come a day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended a fourth Covid vaccine shot from Pfizer or Moderna for people 50 or older. The CDC also recommended that certain younger people with compromised immune systems should receive one-fifth the dose.

Biden received his fourth dose after his speech.

Congress is also wasting billions of dollars in Covid funding as a more contagious sub-variant of omicron, BA.2, permeates the country. BA.2 has sparked new outbreaks in Europe and China, although White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, has said he doesn’t expect another rise here.

However, the Biden administration has warned Congress that failing to pass $22.5 billion in new Covid money will lead to drastic cuts in the country’s pandemic response plan, leaving the country unprepared if another wave hits.
