A beagle named Rigby has melted hearts online after his owner shared footage of their “first look” that was filmed during her wedding day, with some commenters saying they were left in tears.
The video, shared on TikTok by rigbythebeagle, shows a clip of the dog’s excitement when he first saw the bride. There are also a few pictures of both of them in full wedding attire, with Rigby wearing a gray dog tuxedo and jumping all over the bride.
Originally shared Thursday on the platform, the video has so far been viewed over 204,600 times and liked 16,400 times. It comes with a caption that says: “We asked our wedding photographer if she would do a ‘first look’ for us with our dog… This is how they turned out.”
Beagles are the seventh most popular dog in the United States, according to the American Kennel Club. They are excellent dogs for hunting rabbits and hares, as they were originally bred for hunting. They also have an outstanding sense of smell.
Earlier this summer, an animal rescue team from the Humane Society of the United States removed about 4,000 beagles from a mass breeding facility cited for multiple Animal Welfare Act violations. They included inadequate veterinary care and insufficient food. Many of these dogs were bound for animal testing laboratories across the country.
