Bestinau got that-
Although Will Smith publicly apologized to Chris Rock on Instagram after his attack on stage at the Oscars, it appears he hasn’t done it personally and the two haven’t spoken to each other since the incident.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone despite what you may have heard,” Rock said Wednesday night during the second show of his Ego Death World Tour at Boston’s Wilbur Theater. We have reached out to Smith’s representatives for comment.
As with the opening performance earlier Wednesday night, Rock didn’t directly address the altercation at Sunday’s Academy Awards, in which Smith took the stage and slammed Rock over a joke the comedian had directed at his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, but again hinted at it.
According to sources, Rock said his daughter didn’t go to first-choice school, which was the real grind from last week, which made the public laugh.
During the opening show, after being greeted by the sold-out crowd with a three-minute standing ovation, Rock asked the audience, “How was your weekend?”, noting that he’s “still a little bit processing what’s up.” happened” and that “at some point” he’ll talk about “that shit” and “it’s going to be serious, and it’s going to be funny.” He then added that he was going to “tell some jokes” before going to his set while an audience member yelled “F*ck Will Smith”. You can listen to his comments below.
Rock will be in Boston until Friday before heading to his next show on the tour in Atlantic City.
Smith first spoke about the whacking incident in his Best Actor acceptance speech on Sunday, apologizing to the Academy and his fellow nominees, but not Rock. Smith followed up on Monday’s written apology to Rock on Instagram. Rock had kept quiet about the ordeal until tonight.
