A nine-year-old boy has tragically died while riding his bike in WA’s South West on Sunday.
Exactly how the boy died is unclear at this stage but authorities are investigating whether he suffered a medical episode before falling from his bike.
Police say he suffered “serious injuries” after falling from his bike in Collie at 1.10pm.
St John WA paramedics rushed the young boy to the nearby Collie Hospital, but were unable to save him.
The boy was riding his bike east on Medic Street when he fell and died, according to a WA Police spokesperson.
“Officers from the major crash investigation section are investigating an incident that occurred in Collie today, Sunday May 1, which resulted in the death of a nine-year-old boy,” they said.
“About 1.10pm, the boy was riding a bicycle east on Medic Street when he fell from the bicycle and received serious injuries. Sadly, the boy died at the scene a short time later.
“Major crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers.”
