DECLAN Donnelly ‘collapsed’ on the studio floor with a ‘mysterious illness’ in a resurfaced clip from his SM:TV Live days.
The 46-year-old Geordie television host was performing a dance with his co-stars Ant McPartlin and Cat Deeley when he suddenly appeared unwell.
Joined on either side by 90s pop bands Westlife and B*Witched, Dec then covered his mouth and fell to the floor.
While Ant briefly went on with the show, a member of the crew rushed in to nurse the apparently stricken star.
“What’s he doing?” asked Kat. Ant chimed in: “Is he okay?”
Suddenly there was a commotion in the studio and Cat yelled “Can someone get the nurse” before the kids show went off the air.
An ITV holding message appeared on the screen, stating: “Sorry for the error. We are working to restore your program as soon as possible.”
As it all happened before the days of social media, concerned viewers started bombarding the SM:TV phone lines with concerned calls.
But seconds later, the hit show returned and Dec was back up and looking good.
He told fans: “Something happened here in the studio. I… I just fell over. I collapsed. I didn’t feel so good.
“Thank you for all your concerned phone calls. There is no reason to be alarmed.
“I would just like to say Happy April 1st.”
Dec smiled and winked as the camera zoomed in on his face.
The cheeky clip aired during Ant and Dec’s 30 Greatest Moments.
The one-off Channel 5 program featured the best bits of the duo’s long career in showbiz.
