Former AFL player denied bail, faces jail time for beating up two women

Bestinau got that-

He claimed he only got involved in the fight after seeing his partner in an altercation with what he initially thought were men because of his poor eyesight.

CCTV footage of the altercation shows Mr Stack punching the two women repeatedly as they tried to protect themselves and each other from the attack.

The women were knocked to the ground several times and Mr. Stack and Mr. Martin continued to kick them in the face, stamp their heads and throw a bottle at one – sometimes while the women were unconscious.

Mr Stack was stopped by a police officer as he dragged one of the women across the floor and has been in jail ever since.

While at Hakea Prison, Ms. Rogers said that Mr. Stack has been threatened and placed on remand.

The alleged attacker Shai Martin has also been released on bail.

The former football player played for the Western Bulldogs between 2007 and 2011 before returning to WA to play in the WAFL.

After retiring from professional football in 2017, Mr Stack continued to be a mentor in the AFL community and took on the role of head coach at Nollamara Football Club in 2022.

He stepped down from the role after his arrest.

The accused men, both charged with committing bodily harm, have yet to plead.
