Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man after reports of a stabbing in Manangatang, 80 kilometers northwest of Swan Hill.

Police say emergency services were called to a home on Wattle Street about 9:15 p.m. yesterday.
They say police and paramedics have found a man with critical injuries and have been working to save his life.
The 58-year-old died at the scene.
Detectives remain at the property this morning.
Local Lyndal Taylor described her experience hearing about the incident last night.
“I got a message that there was a helicopter in town…and another message that there were police everywhere,” she said.
“And then we heard that someone had been stabbed.
Ms Taylor said the man and his partner were not well known in the city.
“They’ve lived here for a while, but kept to themselves for a bit,” she said.
Ms Taylor said nothing like this had ever happened in her life in Manangatang.
“Shocked, a lot of people probably still don’t know,” she said.
