Baker Mayfield has fallen quickly from grace since his 2020 NFL season saw him leading the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs.

With him having a terrible season the following year, the team sent him to the Carolina Panthers.

But it’s been a total disaster for him, as the move hasn’t helped his career.

But does his 2022 season make him the worst quarterback in the NFL?

Outstanding Players Mask Mayfield’s Flaws

While in Cleveland, Mayfield had some of the best players on offense.

He had two top-tier receivers, two top-tier running backs, and a solid tight-end.

The Browns offensive line was also a help for him, as they were consistently good for him.

However, since coming to the Panthers, he hasn’t had the same caliber of players.

Christian McCaffrey is a great running back, but he isn’t the same since he joined the league.

But even with one solid running back, he was missing some weapons on offense.

Robbie Anderson wasn’t like Odell Beckham Jr. or Jarvis Landry, Mayfield’s two top receivers in Cleveland.

Neither is DJ Moore, who’s the top receiver for the Panthers.

Without the talent he had in Cleveland, he was exposed as an incompetent quarterback.

Shannon Sharpe breaks down the numbers of how bad Mayfield is, as he’s last in QBR (17.8) this season and 33rd in completion percentage.

While Sharpe talks about how his co-host talks about the few good games of the veteran quarterback, he calls the signal caller “trash.”

With the numbers Sharpe has, Mayfield is clearly the worst quarterback in 2022 in the NFL.
