According to TMZJada and Will actually have a connection to the establishment, as there are several studios dedicated to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy — one of which is named in honor of the couple. After the event, Jada . took Instagram on Sunday to praise Debbie and Shonda for their achievement in two separate posts. She first wrote:

“@therealdebbieallen said wrap it all in gold and let the kids fill your soul. Congratulations Debbie on the opening of your Debbie Allen Dance Academy @officialdadance! You are the legacy on which so many other legacies will stand. Thank you for EVERYTHING you do.”

The Red Table Talk host then added in another post:

“Big shout out to @shondarhimes for helping the Debbie Allen Dance Academy dreams come true. #DADA”

Jada’s appearance at the event comes just days after it was announced that Will will not be able to access the Academy Awards for the next 10 years after beating Chris onstage. As you know, the King Richard actor decided to punch the comedian when he made a bad taste joke about Jada’s shaved head. Since Jada suffers from the hair loss condition alopecia, Will couldn’t appreciate Chris’ comment at all.

His brother Kenny Rock told the Los Angeles Times on Monday that the Madagascar actor knew nothing about Jada’s condition before pulling the prank at the Oscars:

“The joke was funny. It wasn’t hilariously funny, but I know if he knew she had alopecia… he wouldn’t be joking about that.”

And as for how he felt when he saw his sibling being beaten, Kenny noted:

“It eats me up when I watch it because you’ve seen a loved one attack and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

For her part, Jada seemingly broke her silence on the matter and asked for “healing” in a message on the “gram. But otherwise she kept her lips tight. It will be interesting to see how Jada comes out more and more as she speaks about the infamous blow. We’ll have to see!
