Manchester United legend Roy Keane has received much praise for the highly regarded youngster James Garner as he continues to impress on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The United Academy graduate has been loaned out to the City Ground in his second season, where he has already shone on their FA Cup journey, claiming the scalps of Arsenal and Leicester City. On Sunday, Garner got a start from manager Steve Cooper as he looked to put an end to fourfold hopes for United’s fierce rivals Liverpool.
Garner has been growing stronger under the former Swansea head coach. As a result of his glittering displays in Forest’s red, he has been picked for more involvement at Old Trafford next season.

Speaking on ITV, Keane said: “He’s been [in] a very good cooperation with [Ryan] Yatesy, they complement each other well, he is technically very good.
“He likes to dictate the game, sits a little bit deeper than Yates. Difficult game for him today, this is a great experience for young players competing against top players like Liverpool, a great way to learn.”
