Dominic Raab has announced that he will appeal the probation service’s decision to approve the release of Baby P’s mother.
Tracey Connelly, 40, won her fourth parole after being recalled to prison in 2015 for selling nude photos of herself.
She will have to meet more than 20 license conditions, including living at a designated address, wearing an electronic label and disclosing all relationships. The Parole Board said the license terms would be “robust enough to manage Ms. Connelly in the community”.
Connelly was found guilty of causing or allowing the death of her son
Her case would be one of the issues ministers could pronounce on impending reforms to the Parole Board process. Dominic Raab, the justice minister, said he would ask the board to reconsider its decision.
