OAKLAND (CBS SF) — Oakland firefighters appear to have put down a blaze Monday morning at a “tiny homes” camp on the south side of Lake Merritt, authorities said.
The Oakland Firefighters Twitter account posted the fire at 10:37 a.m. Monday, sharing a Citizen App video showing the fire producing a large plume of black smoke near 2nd Avenue and East 12th Street.

The post said the fire was in a “tiny homes” facility for the unhomed.

There is currently no other information available about the incident from the fire service. Another video shot from above in the area of the fire reported a loud bang. People could be heard screaming on the spot.

Chopper 5 video from around 10:50 am appeared to show that the fire had been extinguished with the burning area covered in white foam.
AC Transit tweeted that the fire activity has led to a diversion around the area for the 1T line to the San Leandro BART station. The bus does not currently stop at 2nd Avenue southbound.

So far there is no word on any injuries from authorities.
