Paul Hogan threatens Australian actor Shane Jacobson Will Smith-style ‘open palm slap’ – ahead of his return Down Under for comedy roasting event

Legendary Australian actor Paul Hogan is known for his great sense of humor.

And on Friday, ahead of The Roast of Paul Hogan at The Palms, which celebrates the 82-year-old’s career in film with some old-fashioned insults, the Crocodile Dundee star made a comedic threat.

Paul says nothing is off limits when it comes to Wednesday’s event, which will be hosted by popular comedic character Kenny, played by Shane Jacobson.

“The first thing I do when I get off the plane is slap Shane in the face with an open hand because I know what he’s going to laugh at me for,” he told The Herald Sun on Friday.

He did say, however, that his event at Melbourne’s Crown Casino “will have no malice and” [is] not dingy,” compared to last month’s Academy Awards theatrical performances.

The Crocodile Dundee star’s comments come after American actor Will Smith, 53, shocked the world when he punched Oscar host Chris Rock in a stunning meltdown onstage at this year’s ceremony.

He stormed onto the stage after the comedian joked about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s buzzcut.

The 50-year-old actress is currently battling the autoimmune disease alopecia, which can cause hair loss and baldness.

He compared the actress’ appearance to that of Demi Moore in the movie GI Jane, where she shook a clean-shaven head.

Jada, who has battled alopecia, rolled her eyes at the joke.

Moments later, the King Richard actor walked onto the stage and punched Rock in the face.

On Friday, Smith announced that he had resigned from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences following the reaction he received after the incident.

Meanwhile, the Academy will continue its disciplinary proceedings against Smith for violating their standards of conduct, with the next board meeting scheduled for April 18.
