Robbers raid cash machine in dawn break-in at Sainsbury’s

ROBBERS broke into Sainsbury’s in an early morning raid and stole a quantity of cash.

Two men forced their way into the supermarket on Church Street at 2am on Saturday, April 30.

Police say a dark grey car was parked near to the front of the stor from around midnight.

Two men then got out of the car and the pair gained entry into the store after making a hole in the building.

Once inside the building they attacked an ATM machine and stole a quantity of cash.

The men then left the scene shortly before 3am.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and video footage.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information that may aid the investigation.

Detective Constable David Gerrard of Warrington CID, said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are in the early stages and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the people responsible.

“As part of our investigation we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area.

“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.

“I’d urge anyone with any information – no matter how small – to get in touch.”
