Roy Keane makes statement about Manchester United man from Nottingham Forest

James Garner was one of Nottingham Forest’s standout performers this season.

The Manchester United midfielder has been a mainstay in the Reds’ midfield and looks set to have a bright future ahead, be it at Old Trafford or elsewhere.

He must have learned a lot from Forest’s narrow FA Cup defeat to Liverpool, which saw him acquit himself well against Premier League heavyweights. Former Forest and Man United midfielder Roy Keane likes what he sees in the 21-year-old and is impressed with the partnership he has developed with Ryan Yates.

“He has a good partnership with Yatesy in mid-midfield,” said pundit Keane during ITV’s coverage of the match.

“I think they complement each other very well. He [Garner] is technically very good and he likes to dictate the piece a little more than Yates.

Keane added: “A tough game for him today, but this game is good for those young players to experience, playing against these top players like Liverpool, it’s a great way to learn.”
