Schools in Acadiana announce closures ahead of Tuesday storms

Several parishes in Acadiana have announced closures for Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

The parishes that ARE CLOSED are as follows:

  • Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lafayette
  • Evangeline Parish Schools
  • St. Landry Parish Schools
  • Iberian Parish Schools. Officials say their 12-month employees will be fired at 11 a.m.
  • Vermilion Schools
  • Lafayette Schools
  • St. Martin Schools
  • St. Mary’s Schools
  • Acadia Parish Schools
  • Jeff Davis Parish Schools
  • Parish Schools of Calcasieu

Public schools will be closed tomorrow due to the potential for inclement weather.

Colleges or Universities

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be open on Tuesday March 22. classes will be held as scheduled. Students unable to travel to campus should contact their professors. If a student needs further assistance, they can contact the Student Counselor’s Office at: deanofstudents@louisiana.edu† Teachers and employees who cannot travel to work should contact their direct supervisor. The university continues to monitor the National Weather Service’s weather forecast. If the weather conditions change, information will be provided at louisiana.edu, on official social media accounts or through the Emergency Notification System. The university’s emergency notification system provides alerts for immediate threats via phone, text, and email. LSU Eunice community, the campus of LSUE closed tomorrow March 22. In addition to the campus closure, all personal classes will be cancelled. Chartwell’s Food Services will open to serve the residents of Bengal Village. Students should contact their instructors tomorrow regarding assignments.
