Bestinau got that-
Steven Gerrard has revealed how Preston North End boss and longtime friend Ryan Lowe begged him to approve another loan for Cameron Archer next season. The 20-year-old has been a revelation at Deepdale since he dropped back to the championship, scoring six times from 14 appearances.
Archer was the Lancashire Derby hero on Tuesday night, shooting home what turned out to be the winner in the first half stoppage time. The one-time loaner of Solihull Moors has become a firm fan favorite among PNE supporters and, ahead of the next term, boss Lowe has begged Gerrard to extend Archer’s loan for another season.
“We will try to get him back next season,” Lowe outlined this week, “if Villa signs some big hitters and what not. Because I think if he has another year in his development with us he will be fantastic. “

BirminghamLive later explained that plea to Gerrard on Bodymoor Heath for Spurs, with the Villa boss smiling when he replied: “Ryan [Lowe] called me two days ago and asked him back next season! I told him to tell Peter Ridsdale (Preston North End’s transfer advisor) to do his best if he wanted him full time! I also said that he will not be available for a loan because the idea of the loan is to give him some experience to get him back in the group and have a positive preparation for the season.
“I want more attackers in the number 9 position, if you want, so we’ll analyze Cam in the pre-season and make the decision from there. He’s a big, bright candidate here.
“Ryan did a good job with him. Preston gave him a really good shot, to be honest, but everyone wants Cam Archer and everyone wants Keinan Davis! Good players cost an awful lot of money and you know it, don’t they!”
