SPOKANE, Wash. (KXAN) — The Texas Longhorns have no plans to end their current 14-game winning streak.

Texas is gaining momentum in Sunday’s Elite Eight game against #1 ranked Stanford, seeking first place in the Final Four since 2003. The Longhorns will face Stanford in the Finals Sunday at 8:00 PM CDT of the Spokane Region.

Along with a Final Four spot, the Stanford Cardinal will take revenge. Texas upset Stanford in November, giving the cardinal one of three defeats this season.

The defending national champions have won 23 games in a row, dating back to the end of December. It is the longest win streak in the country – before the Longhorns streak.

Vic Schaefer’s team is in the Elite Eight round for the second year in a row. Texas endured a late rally in the fourth quarter of Ohio State Friday for a 66-63 win in the Sweet 16.

Stanford faced the first real challenge in the Sweet 16 since the regular season. The Cardinal defeated Maryland 72-66.
