Texas Starts Transporting Illegal Immigrants From Border To DC

Bestinau got that-

Texas has begun executing Governor Greg Abbott’s plans to transport illegal immigrants placed in the state by the federal government to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, according to a new report.

“In the past 24 hours, TDEM has sent buses to areas where communities have expressed concerns about the federal government’s deposition of migrants and has the ability to send as many as needed to meet requests from mayors and county judges. Seth Christensen, chief of media and communications for TDEM, told Fox News.

“Of the [Rio Grande Valley] In Terrell County, a large majority of communities that originally sought support through this operation have now said the federal government has stopped dropping migrants in their cities since the governor’s announcement on Wednesday,” he added.

The state has sent an undisclosed number of buses to the communities, but Christensen said each bus has “the capacity and supplies needed to carry up to 40 migrants.”

The state has a pool of up to 900 buses for the operation, Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd said Wednesday, according to CNN.

Abbott said on Wednesday that Texas would send willing illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C., by bus and plane in response to the recent announcement by the Biden administration that it will lift Title 42, a Trump-era public health order that has empowered U.S. border officials to quickly deport migrant families to Mexico next month.

“To help local officials whose communities are overrun by hordes of illegal immigrants being deposed by the government, Texas is making available charter buses to send these illegal immigrants deposed by the Biden administration to Washington, DC,” Abbott said at a news conference. .

During an appearance on Fox News on Thursday, the governor said only illegal immigrants who would be voluntarily transported to the Capitol would be taken there or the “would be kidnapping even if it were by a law enforcement agency.” The migrants must also show documentation from DHS to board a bus or flight, the governor’s office said.

“Where better to go than the steps of the United States Capitol?” said Abbott. “They get to see the beautiful Capitol Building, but also get closer to the people who make these policies that allow people to come to the border illegally.”
