‘The Masked Singer’ Season 7 Episode 4: Lemur Unmasked

Bestinau got that-

SPOILER ALERTIf you haven’t seen Season 7 Episode 4 of “The Masked Singer,” “Masking For It – The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly – Round 2,” which aired on Fox March 30, don’t read on.

It was a brief, but eventful tenure on “The Masked Singer” for supermodel Christie Brinkley, who was revealed as the Lemur in this week’s episode. According to Brinkley, she was sick on the actual day of the performance on the show.

“I had a real bout of food poisoning the night before,” she said Variety† “And so I ran out that morning.”

Brinkley was the first celebrity to leave during round 2 of season 7, meaning she was allowed to play only one song on the show: “I Feel the Earth Move”, by Carole King.

But according to Brinkley, that wasn’t the original plan: She was going to sing “Dream a Little Dream,” “with a really cute choreography and all,” she said. “I’m more of a soprano so it suited my voice better. But one of my other songs was the one they transferred it to because they thought it was a little faster, more dynamic or whatever. So that was a small change.”

However, the real problem for Brinkley was the costume.

“We struggled with my costume from day one,” she said. “It looked like a furry, cute, cuddly thing, but it really was a beast. The tail resembles feathers, but was actually very heavy. To the point that when I tried to swing it to the music, it would really take my breath away.

Brinkley compared the experience of having a telephone pole to her body. “And we were constantly struggling with the tail and the head,” she said. “She had a really big head and that tail would rub against her. And it would literally turn the head around. I could see a little bit out of the nostrils but when the tail turned the chin down I couldn’t see anything else than my own feet, and literally nothing else.”

And that’s what happened when the performance started. “I tried, like the show has to go on,” Brinkley said. “I was going to really prop up and swing the tail to the beat. But it just takes my breath away. For starters, I was exhausted from my rough night. I just felt like I couldn’t project like I did wanted, I couldn’t move the way I wanted.”

Ironically, Brinkley said she chose the Maki costume because it looked more comfortable than the other form-fitting costume she was offered.

Meanwhile, Brinkley had also practiced “Baby Love” by the Supremes and “The Girl from Ipanema” in Portuguese to perform as she progressed.

“I studied really hard to get the whole song,” she said of “The Girl from Ipanema.” “One of the guys in the sound booth was Brazilian, so he worked with me on my accent. I felt really confident with my Portuguese and was looking forward to that. I was ready to go. Probably the song I least expected to be the first was the song I ended up doing.”

For Lemur, Ken Jeong was right and Brinkley guessed. “That was your best guess in seven seasons,” Robin Thicke marveled. Thicke thought it was Melanie Griffith, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg guessed Pamela Anderson and Nicole Scherzinger were going with Goldie Hawn. (Other past guesses from the panel included Heather Locklear, Jerry Hall, Jennifer Aniston, and Molly Shannon.)

“When they started guessing and they threw out all those fabulous women’s names, I felt like I had already won,” Brinkley said. “I was mentioned in the same breath as Jennifer Aniston and Goldie Hawn, two of my people I adore, and a whole host of wonderful women, Melanie Griffith. I just remember loving this so much, I can’t even believe it. I really have to hand it over to Ken, because I think the clues were very cryptic.”

Christie Brinkley as the Lemur joins the roster of unmasked celebrities, including Jorge Garcia as Cyclops, Jordan Mailata as Thingamabob, Duff Goldman as McTerrier and Joe Buck as the Ram.

So far, Firefly (“Team Good”) is poised for the final.

“The Masked Singer” entered Season 7 with 15 contestants, which are divided into “The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly”. This season’s costumes include THE GOOD: Ringmaster, Armadillo, McTerrier, Firefly, Frog Prince; THE BAD: Hydra, Ram, Jack in the Box, Cyclops, Queen Cobra; THE CUDDLY: Baby Mammoth, Thingamabob, Lemur, Space Bunny, Miss Teddy.

The Season 7 contestants together have 112 film appearances, 15 Grammy nominations, eight Emmy nominations, seven Super Bowl appearances, two Hollywood Walk of Fame stars, and two world records.

Another change is that the show’s panelists don’t seem to be competing for a “Golden Ear” trophy based on their first impressions of each masked performer (which McCarthy has won twice, but Scherzinger won last season) this season. .
