Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior with boyfriend Malcolm McRae

Just look at these two beautifully pretentious people, serving cheekbones for days.

Help us, we love her.

See, we’ve made our feelings about sheer dresses clear for literally a decade now, but we’ve always been clear that our problem with the style isn’t prudishness at all. It’s about antiquity and equality. As long as a designer can come up with an interesting look and/or a stylist can come up with a chic and interesting way to show it off, we have no problem with the style in a red carpet setting. After all, it’s a venue that caters to fantasy fashion, not practical or even understated styles. We’re not one hundred percent on the bodice, which is too much ruffle and too much ruffle, but the skirt is really gorgeous. We LOVE the drama provided by the nets. We only wish the back looked a little better. Some well-placed hair jewelry might have helped there.

He rests on beautiful and does not take the attention away from her. That’s fine, but we’re still going to joke when we see white shirts without a shirt. It makes the outfit look unfinished. Your button placket should not be blindingly white compared to the rest of the shirt.
