Bestinau got that-
Just under two weeks later Will Smith beaten Chris Rock on stage at the 2022 Oscars, the Academy has decided to ban the actor from “any event or program, in person or virtual, including but not limited to the Academy Awards” for 10 years.
The move comes after Academy board members held a meeting on April 8 to determine what disciplinary action will be taken against the actor in the wake of the March 27 show.
In a statement obtained by E! News, Academy President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson stated in part: “During our broadcast, we did not adequately handle the situation in the room. We are sorry for this. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers and our Academy family around the world , and we came up short — unprepared for the unprecedented.”
“This action we are taking today in response to Will Smith’s behavior is a step toward a greater goal to protect the safety of our artists and guests and restore trust in the Academy,” the statement continued. “We also hope that this can begin a time of healing and recovery for all involved and affected.”
