Woman Crush Wednesday: Karen Gillan, ‘The Bubble’

The clock is ticking into March 2022, but thankfully April is just around the corner to shower us with top-notch streaming content all month long. Making incredible content possible in the first place is the amazing actresses who breathe life into characters and stories that entertain us and want more. We’re shouting out one of those leading ladies in today’s Woman Crush Wednesday by highlighting an amazing woman who has done an amazing and memorable job as a professional actress and filmmaker for the past 16 years. She deserves all the respect and recognition in the world, so make sure you give it up for her as we celebrate this week’s WCW, the gifted Karen Gillan!

WHO IS THAT GAL: Karen Gillan

WHY WE CRUSHED: Gillan stars as Carol Cobb in the upcoming Netflix Original title, the bubblewhich will premiere on the platform on Friday April 1. The comedy is a highly meta-movie in a film set in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and follows a group of actors who have traveled to a closed set in England to film the sixth episode of Cliff Beasts, a hugely successful blockbuster franchise with a (fictional) dinosaur theme within the movie universe. Directed by Judd Apatow, this delightful romp of a movie features a star-studded cast that includes Gillan, Pedro Pascal, Leslie Mann, Fred Armisen, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Kate McKinnon, Guz Khan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Iris Apatow , and Mary Bamford. Be sure to check out their amazing work and spend your April 1 the right way (with a good laugh) by watching the bubble once it drops, only on Netflix.
